WRDSB will continue to implement a split in the evaluation days using a 1:4 split each semester, as shown on the secondary school year calendar.  Thursday November 6 is the date of our first mid-semester evaluation day.

The mid-semester evaluation day is an opportunity for both remediation and deeper understanding of the topics covered in class with a focus on a variety of assessment and evaluation products, conversations and observations that will aid students in consolidating learning and working towards a provincial standard of the overall expectations prior to a reporting period.  Possible learning opportunities could include assessments (which could require in-person attendance), performances, conferences, and completion of assignments as determined by each teacher.  Classroom teachers will work with their students at assignment completion, and/or offer additional opportunities for students to demonstrate a skill or overall curriculum expectation that has been missed or requires further demonstration.

Teachers will communicate with their students the expectations/schedule for mid-semester evaluation days in advance.  If your student is required to attend in-person, we will follow the week 2 schedule:  Block A, B, Lunch, D, C.  If your student is not asked to attend in-person by their teacher(s), they are not required to be at school on these days.  Students who are not required to attend in-person can learn from home.

Students in our ACE classes will continue to attend school with regular programming and follow regular attendance procedures.

Transportation will run at regular times.
