Hours
The school library is open for students throughout the day from 8-3 usually. Students are expected to have a valid STUDENT CARD for borrowing materials from the school library. If not… you will need a copy of your timetable or another form of identification.
Available Resources
- Books (fiction and non-fiction)
- Encyclopedia (print and electronic access)
- Magazines (print and electronic access)
- Software (only if licensed with borrowing privileges)
Loan Periods
Normal Loan period is three weeks and books may be renewed for an additional three weeks
Magazines = in library only for the current issue
Audio media = one week loan
Library Learning Commons (library.wrdsb.ca)
Home access is available for Library Learning Commons electronic databases (for magazines, newspapers, encyclopedia, etc). Students will use their PAL user name and password for home access. See the Teacher-Librarian (or posted information) for the details.
Overdue Notices
Students are responsible for returning all materials by the required due date.
Notices of items that are past due or fines that are owing are regularly emailed via your WRDSB Gmail. Students are expected to respond to the first notice and return materials or clear fine accounts promptly. Student borrowing and /or computer privileges may be withheld until accounts are cleared.
Printing from Computers
Each student receives 50 print credits at the start of the school year. Additional print credits may be purchased in the school library. The cost is $.05 per page (minimum purchase =$1.00)

http://chc.wrdsb.ca/library provides access to a wide range of electronic resources for research and study skills. These resources may be used at school or at home. Please see the Teacher-Librarian (or posted information) for user names and passwords for at-home access to copyrighted material.
Food
Food is not permitted in the library. Please use the cafeteria area. Water is the only exception.
