Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute (CHCI) will be closed today, Thursday, May 30, 2024 as staff work with the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) to investigate a threat made against the school. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and well-being of all those in the CHCI school community.

Staff are working in partnership with WRPS to continue their investigation and will provide updates as they become available with the goal of reopening the school safely and as quickly as possible.

Student learning will continue through asynchronous learning resources from their virtual learning environment, where applicable. Students may also work on previously-assigned work or spend time reviewing material previously covered. Students are invited to participate as they are able.

Our priority is ensuring that our school remains a safe place where students and staff experience a caring learning environment that addresses their well-being. If your child is struggling, please let their Vice Principal know and/or have them reach out to their teacher, guidance counsellor or another trusted adult for support.

We want to thank our partners at WRPS and families, guardians and caregivers for your ongoing support.
