Greetings from CHCI!

We’re excited to share important school start-up details with our students and families.

Student Timetables:

We will be sending student timetable information to each student’s WRDSB gmail account by the end of this week.

First Day of School Schedule:

The first day of school this year will be Wednesday, September 3! Our first day of school schedule provides an opportunity for our Grade 9 students to participate in orientation activities in the morning.
Here is schedule for Wednesday, September 3 – Together as One Day.

Please note: ACE classes will attend school following the regular schedule.
Transportation will run at regular times.

You’ll note that on our CHCI School Year Calendar Week 1 is colour coded in green and Week 2 is colour coded in yellow.

Grade 9 Chromebook Distribution:

Grade 9 students will have received their Chromebooks at either our Grade 9 Drop-in Open House (August 27) or will have an opportunity to get their Chromebook on the first day of school. Students should fully charge their Chromebooks at home every night before coming to school.

Locker Distribution:

Students who wish to obtain a locker on the first day of school must bring a combination lock to school with them. Keyed locks are not permitted. Students are not permitted to share lockers. There will be a limited amount of locks available for purchase in the main office for $10.

Student Forms & Paperwork

A School-Day message will be sent with links to online forms that must be filled out by all families.
Data Verification Forms and Medical Plan of Care forms (if applicable) will also be sent home with students when they are available.
General Information and Code of Conduct – Families will need to sign off on School-Day to say they have read the CHCI General Information and Code of Conduct

Activity Fees

All activity fees should be paid on School-Day; however, students needing to pay cash should see our Activities Secretary, Ms. Hackbart, in the main office to make payment.

CHCI Activity Fee ($40) – MUST be paid for all students planning to join a team, club, or attend an event or school dance at CHCI.
CHCI Yearbook ($40) – Don’t miss out on your chance to have a record of this year’s memories!
Participation in school sports and clubs will require additional fees. Fees vary by activities. Details will be provided at the first meeting of each team or club.

Note: Students who require assistance with fees should see Mr. Green, our Activities VP, in the main office to make arrangements for support.

School Bus Information:

Families should access the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) website to obtain information or inquire about school bus access. Transportation details are now available!

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up Location:

All student drop-off and pick-up must occur in the areas surrounding Cameron Heights, including in the student parking lot, located across Stirling Ave across the street from the school. Click here for more detailed information.

There is no student drop-off or pick-up in the CHCI parking lot, laneway, or roundabout.

Picture Day:

This year’s picture day will take place on Friday, September 12. Details for photo package orders will be distributed to families as the date approaches. All students are required to have their picture taken for their school records even if not purchasing photos.

CHCI Spirit Wear:

A variety of spirit wear items will be available in September. Information and details for this year’s items is forthcoming.

Construction Update:

Our elevator is currently being replaced and we will not have access to the elevator until December. If you require accessibility support while the elevator is unavailable, please contact the main office.
